In John 15, Jesus gives us a powerful picture of pruning – a process that can feel painful, heavy, and even discouraging in the moment. Yet, it is necessary for producing fruit. A vinedresser carefully removes what is dead, diseased, or no longer serving the health of the vine. I believe therapy can be approached in a similar way. Together, we can take an honest look at your life, name what isn’t working, explore where it came from, and begin the process of letting go of what no longer aligns. Therapy is also a place where new seeds are planted and watered in your life, as you watch God give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:16).
The pruning process is not punishment; it’s an intentional act of care that creates space for new growth. While confronting difficult things in our sessions may feel uncomfortable, my hope is that our work together leads to meaningful transformation and a life marked by purpose and the ability to bear the fruit God desires for you.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
One of my goals is for therapy to be a place where you can stop performing. Whether you’re wrestling with anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, identity, or questions of faith, I want to help you deepen your relationship with Christ and grow in confidence as you discern His calling for your life. My greatest hope for you is that our work together equips you to walk in the freedom Christ offers, trust in His faithfulness more deeply, and live with a renewed sense of purpose as you pursue the life He has created you to live.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a grace-filled space that is free from judgment or shame where you can honestly explore the parts of yourself you’ve learned to hide, ignore, or carry alone. Together, we’ll seek to better understand the experiences, beliefs, and patterns that have shaped your life, while also exploring them through the truth and hope of Scripture. Christian counseling is about more than symptoms relief. It’s about inviting God into the healing process as we discover what Scripture says about your identity, purpose, and the person God created you to be.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
My approach is very much “come as you are.” You don’t have to have the right words, have your faith all figured out, or clean yourself up before walking through the door. I believe healing begins when we can bring our whole selves – the broken, messy, confused, and hurting parts – into a space where we are met with understanding and empathy instead of judgment.
Also, I am not easily offended. I started my career as a jailhouse therapist. I’ve seen and heard just about everything. And from that exposure, I can say wholeheartedly that nothing is too big, too small, or too messy for God’s grace. Whether you’re navigating major life transitions, struggling with difficult emotions, grieving the weight of life not looking the way you imagined, or simply feeling overwhelmed by what you’re carrying, we can find a way through those things together, with God’s help and direction.
Qualifications & Experience
I hold a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas. I have been licensed to practice counseling since 2014.
My Call to Christian Counseling
I’ve always been deeply drawn to people’s stories – not just what has happened to them, but who they truly are beneath the surface. I’m fascinated by the experiences that shape us, the beliefs we develop, and the unique lens through which each person sees the world.
Growing up as a first-generation American, balancing two cultures while navigating childhood trauma and searching for my own identity, I spent much of my life asking deeper questions about who I was and why I felt the way I did. I also spent much of my life wishing I had someone to walk alongside me on that journey. These experiences gave me a compassion for what others are carrying. Pursuing a career as a therapist just felt like a natural extension of my journey – wanting to create a space where people feel seen, understood, and supported as they make sense of their own stories and discover healing.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
Outside of the therapy room, you’ll most likely find me spending time with my four favorite people— my husband, my oldest, who is eight, and my six-year-old twins. We’re in that (mostly) fun stage of endless questions, big personalities, and the frequent, “I already know that, Mommy!” I am completely obsessed with them while also feeling wonderfully overwhelmed by motherhood most days.
I also love cooking and have recently started a fitness journey that I’m slowly learning to enjoy (emphasis on learning). I’m also extremely blessed to be in close relationship with my large extended family. They’re our closest friends and biggest support system. Whether it’s a birthday celebration or an impromptu dinner, you’ll usually find me with some combination of them, sharing good food, lots of laughter, and making memories.

Depression and Anxiety
Whether you have been struggling with depression and anxiety for a while, or if it’s a new experience for you caused by a specific circumstance, together we will assess the severity of your symptoms, identify triggers, and collaborate on treatment goals. We will incorporate a variety of skills and techniques that will assist in improving mood, resilience, and overall well-being. Additionally, I believe faith can also be an immense source of hope and healing in this instance and will walk alongside you as you draw strength from both your faith and the practical tools and support that God provides us through counseling and community.
Counseling for Teens
Growing up has never been easy, but today’s world presents challenges unlike any previous generation has faced. With constant access to social media, technology, and the opinions of others, it can be hard to know who you are or where you belong. If you’re struggling with stress at school, navigating friendships, having a difficult time relating to your parents, or preparing for the transition to college and all the emotions that come with it, I would love to be part of your journey and help you discover the story God is writing in your life.
Women’s Issues
As a millennial woman, I know firsthand how overwhelming the expectations placed on women can feel. A lot of the time, it can feel like we’re expected to excel in every role – to be a devoted wife, an engaged mom who’s present at every game and school event, all while maintaining a successful career and somehow still having dinner on the table each night. Whether you’re overwhelmed by the demands of a high-stress career or staring at a pile of laundry that’s been sitting on the couch all week, I want you to know there’s grace to be found in both.
If you, like me, have ever felt a little rattled by the reality that the life you imagined looks very different from the life you have, I would love to meet you in that place and help you find God’s goodness and kindness there as well. He wants more for you than a life defined by feeling burdened or burned out. There is a wholeness and rest He’s waiting to give you as you surrender the pressure to do it all yourself, seek Him in the process, and allow Him to redefine what it means to live a full and meaningful life.
Trauma
If you’ve ever experienced something traumatic, you may have tried to share your story only to be met with well-intentioned encouragement to “find God in it.” While I absolutely believe that God can and will bring healing, redemption, and purpose from our pain, I also believe that rushing to ask questions like, “Why would God allow this?” or “What is He trying to teach me?” can cause us to move past something deeply important. There will be a time to wrestle with those questions, but first, we need to make space for the weight of what has happened. Let’s sit in the heaviness together. Let’s learn to exhale in the place that feels so uncomfortable. In a culture that often emphasizes doing and staying busy, I want to help you learn how to simply be still. As we gently increase your capacity to sit with the discomfort rather than run from it, I believe healing can take root more completely, and in time, God will faithfully lead us toward His truth, hope, and redemption.
Relationship Issues
Every relationship tells a story – not just about the people we’re connected to, but about ourselves. The way we communicate, respond to conflict, set boundaries, and love others is often shaped by experiences we may not even realize are influencing us. Whether you’re struggling to communicate with your spouse, feeling disconnected from someone you love, or navigating conflict with a family member or friend, I would love to help you slow down, become curious about what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin to see your relationships through fresh eyes. Remember, healthy relationships don’t happen by accident. They grow as we become more aware of ourselves, more dependent on God, and more willing to extend the same grace we’ve been given. Sometimes, that growth comes through the humbling work of allowing God to transform our own hearts first.
