I see therapy as a harbor, a place where you can come in and find respite and refuge from the storms of life. With a calm, patient, easy-going demeanor, I provide Christian counseling for teens and adult individuals dealing with a range of concerns, including trauma, grief, anxiety, attachment issues, and more. With advanced training in treating trauma, grief, and attachment, including EMDR, I offer evidence-based therapeutic techniques from a faith-based perspective so you can heal and grow emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I also offer counseling in Spanish.
Rockwall – Fri & Sat
Online Counseling – Fri & Sat
Together we will discuss your goals and explore what it is that you want to see change. I will help you see the big picture and determine a realistic plan for how you can move forward one step at a time. Using practical therapeutic tools and creative approaches such as journaling, art therapy, or outside sessions, I will cater your treatment to your specific needs and desired outcomes. We will discuss tools you can implement outside of therapy and regularly check in to make sure you are making the progress you desire.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
One of my goals as your counselor is to provide a place where you can put your guard down, unravel the questions you haven’t been able to ask, and find healing. My hope is that through our time together, you will experience improvement in your mental health and also deepen your relationship with Christ as you learn to lean on Him more and more each day.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a warm, unhurried environment where you can feel welcome and at ease. I will meet you where you are with grace and walk alongside you in your healing journey. My aim is to create a space where you feel comfortable emotionally and can grow in your relationship with Christ because you don’t feel judged or worried about saying the wrong thing.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
My approach to Christian counseling is truth and love. Grace and gentle nudging. I see people through the gospel, as those who are valuable and made in the image of Christ. My aim is to reflect the grace and patience of Christ in our sessions as we go at whatever pace you need. In this broken, trouble-filled world where we face heartaches and difficulties, sometimes it can feel hard to find peace. Jesus came to meet us in our sin and brokenness by dying on the cross. John 16:33 says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Through our time together, I pray you will experience the lasting peace found in Christ.
Qualifications & Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from University of Texas Arlington and a Bachelor of General Studies with a focus in Sociology and Business from Texas Woman’s University.
I have also completed training as a TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention®) Practitioner and in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Sandtray Therapy, Trauma and Grief Therapy, and Nature-Based Therapy.
My Call to Christian Counseling
I have worked in the secular environment as a therapist for most of my career. The piece that I knew was missing and that I couldn’t openly discuss with my clients as freely was about Christ, their relationship with Christ, and how that integrated into their journey with counseling and how they heal. Life’s biggest questions and needs come down to Jesus and our relationship with Him. I knew that to be able to help people heal and answer questions in their journey, offering Christian counseling would be really important.

Trauma
We are learning daily about how trauma impacts an individual. The way one person experiences a situation will be different from how another person experiences it. What may not have felt traumatic to one person may have to another. Living with trauma can feel overwhelming. Emotions and senses are on high alert. Our mind doesn’t recognize if it is safe, so neither does our body.
When I work with clients for trauma treatment, I create a space that is quiet and calm. I help them tell their story in a way that is safe to them. We work on skills to help calm their system and most importantly help them know they are heard and seen.
Grief and Loss
Loss looks different for everyone. Loss can come in many different forms. At one point we believed grief was this six-step process where we move from one stage or phase to the next. But we know now that grief shows up most often when it is not convenient and when it is unexpected. We often can feel like we carry grief with us for a long time.
When we work together, your story of loss will be validated and your grief will not have to be carried alone.
Anxiety
Fast heart rate, dizziness, warm face, or what even feels like anger . . . these things can all be a part of anxiety and when it shows up, we feel out of control. To deal with anxiety, coping can look different for each person. We will discuss healthy coping skills and work on mindfulness techniques to start to see what is happening and contributing to the anxiety. We will also explore what thoughts are contributing to your anxiety, being present in the moment, and changing our thoughts to speak life.
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is a great place for someone to start. Sometimes we just don’t feel like ourselves. Sometimes we want to improve the relationship we have with ourselves or we are working to overcome a trial. We will take time to understand who you are, how you have been impacted, and work at growing, healing, and deepening your relationship with Christ.
Women’s Issues
There are a lot of people telling women who we should be. There are a lot of roles that might define you. There are also many factors that might impact how you feel. Seasons in life might change what you think about yourself or how you view yourself.
This area of counseling has become a specialized interest. Who we are as women should be reflected first by what Christ says. I will help you navigate all the noise, recognize your identity in Christ, and understand the current issues women deal with.
