Lori Askew, MA, LPC-S
Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor
(469) 333-6163
As a relationship expert with ten years of experience, I help individuals, couples, and families gain a better understanding of themselves and their relationships. As a Christian counselor, I aim to share God’s love with each of my clients while also highlighting the fact that His love is the most important aspect of their interactions with others. As we work together, we will address the challenges that are interfering with the kind of relationships you want and help you develop tools and take steps that will lead to peaceful, healthy, satisfying, and rewarding relationships.

Online Counseling – Mon, Tue, Wed & Thu
Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship problems or life transitions, I would be honored to walk with you toward healing and restoration. With God’s help, we will work to identify the areas in your life and/or relationships that may benefit from positive change. Then, we will create a plan that will outline the skills and tools that will best aid you in making those changes. I believe that making these positive adjustments and strengthening interpersonal interactions will lead to improvement of your overall health and quality of life.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My aim is for you to feel seen, heard, and understood. With compassion, warmth, and empathy, I will listen intently to your story to better understand who God has created you to be. Together we will work to identify both the good and challenging aspects of your relationships so we can determine what steps you need to take to create a life that brings satisfaction, joy, and peace.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a safe, judgment-free environment where you can feel comfortable sharing the details of your life with me. As you give me glimpses into your story, I will also ask you to share your goals for counseling so we can create a customized treatment plan to lead you toward health and growth in every area of your life – relationally, mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
Christian counseling provides a common biblical and moral foundation. It is from this foundation that I help my clients discover their identity in Christ, which then creates a framework that guides our sessions. Additionally, we may invite the Holy Spirit into sessions so that clients can feel God’s grace and peace which will lead them to growth and healing. As a faith-based therapist, I pray every day for my clients and our sessions so that I may be guided by the Holy Spirit and be used by Him to reveal God’s grace, wisdom, love, and comfort.
Qualifications & Experience
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas A&M University and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from St. Edward’s University.
My Call to Christian Counseling
First and foremost, for as long as I can remember, I have had a tender heart for people who are suffering, and I have wanted to help. So, through the years little by little, God drew my heart to a counseling career. Additionally, many years ago I went through a very difficult time and needed counseling myself. During this time, as my counselor got to know me, he recognized my gifts and talents and persuaded me to investigate counseling education programs. Eventually I started a Master’s in counseling program, and subsequently my career, and I have loved every minute!
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I have loved tennis most of my life, both playing and watching. I am active outdoors which includes walking, running, and pickleball. I love to read anything from mystery novels to books about various aspects of counseling and human behavior. I also enjoy traveling, both domestically and abroad.

Relationship Issues
I will help you identify what is and isn’t working in your relationships. In couples and family counseling, I will introduce tools and effective communication skills so that each party can gain an understanding of the other’s point of view. Together we will develop a plan that incorporates relationship education and relational skills to help you create more satisfying and loving relationships.
Anxiety
I will encourage you to share with me what living with anxiety is like for you. As we determine the root of your anxiety and how it impacts your life, I will offer specific tools and resources to help you manage your anxiety in a way that works for you so that you can feel the peace that God intends for you.
Depression
Many of us are experiencing depression today, but there is hope! I can help you understand your depression and figure out the areas of your life that may be contributing to it. Once we understand it better and what may be causing it, we will find practical ways to alleviate it.
Individual Counseling
Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, or life transitions, I can help. My approach is to keenly listen to and support you as you tell me about the areas of your life that aren’t working for you. Then, together, with God’s help, we will create a plan that will help you develop health, peace, and joy in your life.
